Email Marketing Works

Guest Post: By Carrie Wilkerson

Leads_400For many businesses there are many ways you can market your business. Some may work and some may not. You must try them a few times before you know for sure.

One technique that works very well for almost any business is email marketing. There are two types of email marketing that you can use. Mainly the difference is the cost involved.

Email marketing is used by more and more businesses every day. You need to gather email addresses so you will have a list to send your information to. You need to make sure you are careful about the way you gather email addresses because you don’t want to be hit with SPAM. Have a button or sign-up form on your site for people to use.

You can send out weekly or monthly newsletters, flyers, special notices, or solo ads to the people on your list. You don’t want to send too many emails though because you will run the risk of losing subscribers because they can’t keep up with everything you send.

Email marketing is a great way to keep your business in front of your list on a regular basis. When you keep yourself in front of them, they will remember you and what your business offers when they are in need.

Weekly communications are the best way to do this. Create a newsletter that you can send out. It doesn’t need to be anything huge. List your specials, highlight on a product or service you offer, and tell them how to contact you. Of course you can have it longer by including an article, other tools or products that you don’t offer, but that they may need or want, or you can include information that they may find interesting.

Email marketing can be done through your regular email or you can use online programs to create them. Online programs such as Aweber, 1ShoppingCart, and Constant Contact are just a few of the popular ones that you can use.

Keeping your business in front of your email subscribers is important. It’s a way of building trust and reminding them of what you offer and how you can help them with their needs.

4 Membership Site Rules To Keep Members Happy and Minimize Cancellation Rates

Guest Post: by Jeremy Gislason

One of the killer strategies to make the maximum amount of money from membership sites is to keep your members happy in order to minimize cancellation rates.

It is very normal for members to come and go, but ultimately you will want to keep a core number of members at all times. This will allow you to cover your running expenses and content creation costs; and of course, generate some profit.

The secret to keeping members really is not a secret at all. It involves a few things:
- Update with new, quality content regularly
- Become a trusted friend to your members through clear constant contact
- Price your membership according to quality and market value
- Give members what they want

The above four rules, if abided, will make any membership site a success. Let’s take a look at the above factors more closely to see how they truly do mean the difference between a successful membership and one that fails.

Update Regularly With New Content

It goes without saying that a membership will not retain members for long if no new content is added. Make sure you update regularly.

Become a Trusted Friend

By communicating with your members through email, forums, audio recordings and other means, you build a sense of trust and friendship. Trust is the ultimate factor in getting people to buy from you online.

Membership Price

Are there any other memberships in your niche targeting the same audience? If so, how much do they cost?

It pays to join up with any similar memberships to see how they work. Study what they are doing and note down how you can do it better.

Can you provide more content, better content or different forms of content from the other membership sites?

Can you do it at a cheaper price, or do you want to price yours at a higher rate to make it seem more exclusive?

The possibilities are endless but studying the competition can make pricing your own membership a much easier task. Ultimately you want to be able to compete with existing sites so offering a low introductory rate is a viable option.

Give Members What They Want
The secret to being successful online is simply to sell what people want. Very few people make good money online by being revolutionary and trying to rewrite history.

Sure, there are many such success stories and the owners have gone on to earn millions of dollars, but you do not hear about the failures of which there are many.

The surefire way to make money online is to give people what they want. You can find out what they want by studying different marketing strategies, spending patterns, popular products, questions being asked on forums, blog and news items. And probably the simplest way is to ask people directly what they require through surveys or questionnaires.

Membership sites provide the ultimate residual income opportunity. They also provide a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction as you work to make your members happy. These killer tips to make money from membership sites will get you on track to running a successful, active membership.
