Keeping your Internet marketing business Alive In hard times
There is always that one film or movie that people quotes and remembers practically word for word, and scene to scene. And the one most remembered is The Godfather, the mafia
family the Corleones. Michael Corleone had learned  amazing lessons during his leadership in the family business, that he inherited from his father, during the  tough gang war. The Corleone family gave us 5 valuable lessons that can be used in marketing. And those lessons can help you take on your rivals that you face. (the Tattaglias, Barzinis, and Sollozzos)

1. Keep your influencers closer than your friends

Keeping in touch with your friends is important in the social media of today, but keeping in touch with your influencers is just as important. Build relationships with your experts and
analysts as you identify with them. “Ask with respect and  come to me with friendship” as quoted from the movie is a very good point to remember in developing a life long friendship with your experts.

2. There are always offers that can’t be refused

Reducing blockages in generating leads can be done easily, by two simple words, Great Offers!  No one would refuse something that has valuable content either by a short blog message or by an ebook. And webinars that have  leadership content or is thought provoking to give insight to raising the bar in business to take it to the next level. So share the information, pass it on free, everyone likes something free, so an ebook or webinar is perfect.

3. Stand for something

Don’t wimp out when it comes to your business, as a prize fighter takes it to the ring, you must stand for something, your convictions won’t allow you to fall  for anything. Influence your customers or audience by being a leader with thought. You are in your business for a reason, so show some leadership.

4. “Don’t let anybody kid you it’s all personal”

In business it is personal. Like in the Godfather movie you thought it was all business, but in the end you find  out it was personal. Michael Corleone finds out that he actually understood his father the best. Which turns out people are business, and businesses are people, so it is personal to everyone. Every one uses social media to bring personal touches in marketing and business, so put your personal brand in your business.

5. Don’t become obsolete, change

To keep your business from going belly up, you must change with the technology and times. You probably don’t have to go to the extreme measure as Michael Corleone did in the Godfather moving from one coast to almost the next. Adjustments must be made or your business will end up like Luca Brassi in the movie  sleeping with the fishes.  Stick to your convictions, share your expertise and use social media and then your business will survive.
