Five Ways to Repurpose Your Content Into New Products and Marketing Tools

he quickest way to increase cash flow in your business is to create new products to sell. The quickest way to create new products is to repurpose the content you already have. Repurposing your content by tailoring it in different formats – ebooks, audio, video – also gives you more marketing tools to promote your products and services to new audiences. Don’t think you have content to repurpose? Here are five ideas to get you started.
1. Blog posts and articles: Putting off writing that ebook because it is too time consuming? Give yourself a jump start by compiling blog posts or brief articles you have already written on a topic or related topics into an ebook, print book, or special report made available on your website. On the flip side, if you have a print book already written, you may also consider using that to create special reports of each chapter for sale.
2. Video posts: Harness the power of YouTube. Create a conversation and a personal touch by putting a face and a voice on your blog posts, recording yourself speaking on a previously written blog topic directly to your audience. Offering a video format for your information will put you in touch with a new audience – those who may not read blogs, but would subscribe to video or share your video posts. It’s a great way to get your face in front of people on a regular basis and direct them toward the product or service you want them to buy.
3. Tweets: Are you tweeting regularly with helpful tips? Compile them into a tips sheet or expand each tip topic into a brief chapter of an e-book, special report or video blog topic.
4. Press Releases: Rework your press releases so they have more of a story-like, conversational feel (take out the hype) and use them as blog posts or articles to promote whatever product or service you are trying to promote.
5. Recordings: Transcribe your teleseminars into an ebook, or special report. Or, convert the audio files into mp3′s for individual sale or as a compilation. If you already have a print book in hand, record a live reading of it for an audio CD/mp3.
Repurposing material is a simple, cost-effective and efficient way to create new products and new channels in which to market them. As you release new products, you create new exposure, resulting in more activity and more credibility as the expert in your field. The best part is, once the content is in hand, you can DELEGATE the reformatting to someone else, so you can concentrate on growing your business! Good luck!
